Both films explore the grim reality of a secretive religious cult that enslaves, traffics and exploits those born into it. It was inspired by the real life Fundamental Church of Latter Day Saints led by now-jailed, self styled Prophet, Warren Jeffs. Even after his incarceration, the activities of the cult have continued in many states in the US, and extend into Canada and Mexico. Many of the actual victims of the cult have been rescued by MoviesMakingADifference and are featured in the film. The goal of the film is to help them transition into the modern world and to raise awareness of their plight.
